At Ernie’s Bird Rescue we are passionate and dedicated in caring, rehabilitating, and helping our feathered friends in need. Based in Watford, we provide a safe haven for sick, injured, abandoned, and orphaned birds  from tiny garden birds and sparrows to larger species like pheasant or a bird of prey.

Our mission is to give every bird a second chance at life and freedom where possible. In many cases, birds rescued are from distressing and vulnerable situations, we aim to provide best care and nourishment during treatment and recovery. We work tirelessly to ensure that each case is ready to return safely back in the wild wherever possible. When release isn’t an option, we create a loving environment to keep the bird healthy and happy or in cases where possible, find a permanent home for them to have a happy thriving future.
Being self-funded, we rely on donations, volunteers, and the support of our local communities. Where possible, we educate the public on rescuing and explain the welfare of birds.

Together, we nurture wings back to health — one bird at a time.
